I loved Howard’s End and now you’ve reminded me that I haven’t read it in too long!

This post was so good and just what I needed to read today :)

Nice piece, Emma. Like me, many psychologists would agree with most of this. Sometimes literature, and fiction, is indeed therapeutic.

Sound advice as always : ) Love that you have that outlook on life and like Elizabeth are able to laugh at the absurdity of it. Much healthier than the alternative. Felt particularly attacked at the introverts not having the energy to remove their headphones line, but it's true: I do feel better when I burst my own bubble and connect with the world around me.

Haha… I aspire to that outlook and achieve it 70% of the time 🙂 & it’s hard to burst the bubble, life is tiring. I work in a bookshop partly because it means you don’t get a choice about talking to lots of people when you’re there!

Love these! All of them. And thanks for introducing me to the poetry of Alice Oswald, whom I not come across before. Love her line about the blade of grass, and what you do with it.

The “pay attention…” subtitle — remind me who that is? I want to say Annie Lamotte…

Wow. That one carries a punch — thank you. I must have seen just the few lines, but never the whole thing. Was so glad to have read it.

I know how you feel! The big lessons are more like daily meditations aren’t they.

Howard's End, loved both the film and the book. Maybe the film a little more. I like your 5th point best
